Your 4-H club can make a difference in your community by developing and carrying out a community improvement project. Whether you already have a project in mind or plan on developing one in the near future, we want to help!

ClassB 2012 Community Improvement Grant

At ClassB, we understand the impact the 4-H program has on the lives of youth in the community. We are pleased to offer a grant to a local 4-H club as “seed money” to carry out a community improvement project.

Amount :

There will be one (1) $500 grant awarded to one (1) local 4-H club.

Application :

The application form can be found by clicking the “Apply Now!” button to the right. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. All applications must be submitted by December 3, 2012.

Reporting :

Each club receiving a grant will be asked to keep a record or scrapbook of the project. Be sure to include photographs as well as any news news articles or press releases. A copy of the report and its supporting documents must be sent to ClassB. Once the report is received, we will recognize the 4-H club on our blog and Facebook page. Completion of the report is important in the consideration of future grants.

Guidelines

The project proposal must:

Be determined and led by the 4-H youth members with support from the adult club leaders and volunteers.
Have a positive and lasting impact on the community.
Involve 4-H youth members as well as adult volunteers.
Invite community partners to join and support.
Project must be a new undertaking for the club.

Deadline June 30, 2011

The application must be completed by an adult leader in your 4-H club. Only one application per club will be considered.

*Please note that any photos provided by adult leaders must not contain images of children under the age of 18 unless the minor’s face cannot be seen. If the child’s face can be seen in the photos then they should not be included. If for any reason your club elects to provide a photo that includes the youth members of the club in which any faces of a minor can be seen, a release form from the child’s parent or guardian must be obtained and provided for such use of the child’s photo.

Spring 4-H Scholarship Opportunity

4-H’ers around the country take on challenges every day in their community with the support of caring adult volunteers, mentors and parents. It’s this support that inspires young people in 4-H to work collaboratively, take the lead on their own projects and set and achieve goals with confidence. We want to give our support to an exceptional 4-Her who has chosen to continue their education past high school.

ClassB Scholarship

We at ClassB understand the importance of the 4-H program in the lives of youth in the community. 4-H teaches kids leadership, citizenship, and life skills that empower them to reach their fullest potential. We are pleased to announce the 2011 4-H Scholarship. If you are a 4-H leader or the parent of a 4-H’er, you could assist their efforts to gain a higher education.

Amount

There will be one (1) $500 scholarship awarded to a deserving high school senior 4-H’er.

Application

You must be over 18 to nominate a 4-H’er who meets the eligibility requirements below. The nomination form can be found by clicking the “Apply Now!” button to the right. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. All nominations must be submitted by 9/30/2011.

Eligibility Requirements

Nominee must be a high school senior eligible to graduate at the end of the 2010-2011 academic year.
Nominee must be planning to enroll as an undergraduate in a university, college, or technical school during the 2011-2012 academic year.
Nominee must have been a 4-H member for at least 3 years.
Nominee must have a current grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
